Multi-Masking for Your Face & Neck

Have you ever thought that your facial skin is divided in to separate zones?  A recent trend highlights a skincare regime where you use a number of facial masks to treat a variety of skin conditions.

Very few of us have a consistent skin type so multi-masking makes sense. You may need to combat oil, dryness or loss of elasticity at the same time. Now you can apply a different mask to the areas of concern.  Here are a few that I have tried; they can be used individually or at the same time.

Neck & jawline

One of the first places to show signs of ageing. A current retail product that is effective is Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Mask that firms and tones the skin.

Oily Skin

Murad Instamatte Oil Control Mask which is a 3 minute deep cleansing mask & dissolves to control oil for a long lasting matte complexion.

Acne & Hyperpigmentation

Acne sufferers will recognise the red or dark spots and scarring left on the skin so using a mask will help to speed up the healing process.  My daughter uses Guinot Newhite Instant Brightening Mask. A cloth mask that is soaked in a serum to penetrate deeper in to the skin & contains Melanoxyl and Vitamin C.

Eye Contour Area

Thinness of the skin around the delicate eye area & the high level of muscle action like blinking, requires gentle ingredients. One product that I really like is Darphin Eye Sorbet Mask which contains Japanese green tea & Chinese Pachyme which refreshes and revitalises the skin around the eyes.

You don't have to spend lots of money on your masks; home made masks are really effective when applied regularly. A big favourite of mine is to use crushed avocado and lemon juice or powdered oatmeal, honey and natural yoghurt. Get messy and improve your skin texture by drawing out toxins and stimulating fresh cell growth.
